I am so excited to share some news that will impact our bread production over the next few months. Matt, our Head Bread Baker and his wife Hannah are heading to Israel for 3 months (August, September and October) to be of service. We are unfortunately all too familiar with the on-going conflict and continued strife happening in Israel. Matt and Hannah will be working with CMJ Israel, an organization dedicated to building community through service, to help make the world a better place. You can find out more about CMJ Israel here.
As you all know, we here at LHB believe in the healing power of a cookie / food made with love. We also believe in serving our community any way we can. Matt and Hannah are doing both. They are using their love of food and dedication to service to make our world community better. We are so happy to support their efforts.
What does all this mean for bread production? While Matt is away, Patrick will be taking over bread production responsibilities. Some of you may know, Patrick is a full time student at WCC and part time Bread Baker here at LHB. To best support both Matt and Patrick, we will temporarily pause Sourdough, Multigrain Sourdough and all specialty bread / bun production beginning August 1st through October 31st. Our last Sourdough and Multigrain Sourdough production will be on Tuesday 7/30. Our last bun production will be on Wednesday 7/31. We will resume sourdough and specialty bread production on Monday, November 4th. During this time, we will continue to produce our core breads you know and love; Farmhouse White, Waterloo Wheat, Multigrain, Roasted Garlic Cheddar and Italian.
In the meantime, I know you will stand with me and the LHB family as we support Matt and Patrick over the next 3 months. Your continued support means the world to me and the rest of the LHB team. The short lived sting of not having our delicious Sourdough, Multigrain Sourdough and specialty breads / buns is worth knowing the positive impact Matt and Hannah are having on our world community.
